Livio Cecini

Born in Switzerland, he completed his acting studies in Zurich and Cologne. After completing his training, he made guest appearances at e.g. at the Schauspiel Köln and the Staatstheater Karlsruhe and was a member of the acting ensemble of the Theater St. Gallen for three years. There he embodied characters such as Antonio ("Torquato Tasso"), Mozart ("Amadeus"), Mark ("Trainspotting"), Vladimir ("Waiting for Godot") and Lanzelot Gobbo ("The Merchant of Venice").
Livio Cecini is the winner of the Armin Ziegler Foundation for outstanding young Swiss artists. Since 2007 he can be found regularly on German-speaking musical stages. He appeared at the Bad Hersfeld Festival as Stephano in the musical adaptation of "The Tempest" and touched the hearts of the audience with a live chicken at his side in the world premiere of "Carmen - A German Musical". He played the Pastor in "Heidi II" on the Walensee stage and Mario in the musical "Bloody Honey" at the Stadttheater Klagenfurt. He was seen as Songman in "Warhorse" at the Berlin Theater des Westens and sang in the operetta "Der Bettelstudent" at the Gärtnerplatztheater. In 2016 he took on the male lead role Billy Flynn in the premiere cast of the Broadway classic "Chicago" at the Deutsches Theater in Munich. From 2016-19 he played George Banks in "Mary Poppins" at the Stage Apollo Theater in Stuttgart and at the Stage Theater an der Elbe in Hamburg. In the summer of 2021 he was successful as William von Baskerville in the musical "The Name of the Rose" at the Luisenburg Festival in Wunsiedel.
This was followed by engagements as Georges in "La Cage aux Folles" at the Eutin Festival, Mario in the Swiss compilation musical "Oh läck du mir!" at Theater 11 in Zurich and Dromio from Syracuse in "The Boys from Syracuse" at Theater Erfurt.
Last summer he took a trip to the Wild West and played Westman Will Parker in "Winnetou I - Blood Brothers" at the Karl May Games in Bad Segeberg.
Livio Cecini is a regular guest at the Staatstheater Darmstadt and is currently playing John Utterson in "Jekyll & Hyde".
