The Summer of Simon

Simon is a dreamer like many of us. He loves freedom and goes through walls with his head. A normal boy who would like to see San Francisco, the Pacific Ocean and the Golden Gate Bridge once in his life. The only thing standing between him and that dream was Duchenne muscular dystrophy, an incurable, life-shortening disease. But that couldn't stop the courageous man from a small town in Thuringia from living out his big dream with family and friends. A touching story of the summer of 2019 - Simon's summer, which hundreds of people gave wings to in a unique crowdfunding campaign. A story that takes the child in us on a journey and shows how beautiful it is to have dreams and just follow them, defying all obstacles in life.
With this film we thank all the people who made this fantastic journey possible and show how magical community is.
