In 1979, technicians Karl and Wilhelm work in a secret BND branch in Nuremberg. One day they come across the mysterious signal "UVB76", which has been secretly creeping into people's minds for years. They discover that the Russian government is using the signal to manipulate its population and control the Western world.
As Karl and Wilhelm delve deeper into the machinations of the signal, they uncover a terrifying truth: the signal has been deliberately manipulated to trigger terrorist attacks in the West and spread chaos. Determined to stop this threat, the two technicians do everything they can to develop a jamming signal to break the signal's control.
But during their dangerous mission, they are confronted with a betrayal. Werner Stiller, a fugitive from the Stasi, reveals that Fräulein Reh, a secretary in the BND office, is working as a spy for Russia and has been passing information about the technicians' work to the enemy. The friends are faced with a difficult decision, as they do not know who else they can trust.
In a race against time and their own insecurities, Karl and Wilhelm must uncover the betrayal, protect their discoveries from the Russian government, and activate the jamming signal in time to end mind control. But the signal is more powerful than they can imagine, and the battle becomes a perilous balancing act between courage and desperation.
Eventually, Karl and Wilhelm succeed in activating the jamming signal and breaking the signal's control. But just when they think the threat has been averted, they learn the shocking truth: the signal was never completely shut down. It is still transmitting, invisible and unstoppable, and continues to threaten to affect humanity.
In an epic finale of trust, betrayal, and will to survive, Karl and Wilhelm must find a way to defeat the signal once and for all. Their journey takes them to the limits of their own abilities and human imagination as they hold the future of all humanity in their hands. It is a race against time in which they risk not only their own lives, but also the freedom of the world.
