Nina

Married couple Nina and Wojtek are looking for a surrogate mother in order to give birth to their child. By accidentally meeting Magda, who is a young and openly lesbian, they finally seem to have found the ideal candidate. But when Nina falls in love with Magda, everything that was important in Nina’s life suddenly becomes meaningless. Director Olga Chajdas captures the complicated network of relationships of her three main characters with great intimacy and is gradually approaching the lesbian desire of a young woman, who is caught up in social roles and expectations in today’s Poland. For her subtly political directorial debut Chajdas was awarded with the prestigious Big Screen Award at the International Film Festival Rotterdam.
