Subtitle: The Dark World of Cornell Woolrich.
A portrait of the American crime writer Cornell Woolrich (1903 - 1968), who was one of the mystery and detection authors of the 1930s and 1940s. His darkly surrealistic stories served as models for the American "film noir" and were filmed by directors such as Alfred Hitchcock and Francois Truffaut. Almost all of his novels and stories are set in the big city of New York, where he himself lived and worked for many years. The film sets out there in search of traces.
