The film was made on the basis of an interview with my neighbor Berta Zanker, born in Augsburg in 1923,
former deputy head of the Städt. Berufsfachschule für Hauswirtschaft in Augsburg.
As one of the last contemporary witnesses, she recounts her very personal memories of the time of her childhood in the countryside of Mindelheim
and her later life in Augsburg before and during the war between 1930 and 1945.
In partly funny, partly sad anecdotes, she revives the time from the point of view of a simple young woman and makes it possible to experience it.
and bring it to life.
Numerous personal photos, historical photographs and film footage and specially composed film music
create a lively document of the times.
On Easter Saturday, April 11, 2020, Mrs. Zanker died at the age of 96.
