    Brief synopsis

Bonn: provisional capital of the Federal Republic of Germany until reunification. And until the parliament moved to Berlin in 1999, still the seat of government.

The center of the former capital was the government quarter, today called the "Bundesviertel". What happened in the former control centers? In the Federal Chancellery and the Federal Palace? In the waterworks and in the "Langer Eugen"? What is still visible today and what has disappeared? And to what extent are the various buildings a built expression of the modest, open and transparent democracy of the Federal Republic?
