Brief synopsis
For a child of the 1960s, from the still very traditional and Catholic Oberstdorf, daughter of a single mother, the world of the theater seems far away, almost unattainable and dangerously abysmal.
But Crescentia Dünßer will not be deterred. Against all odds, she follows her passion and becomes an actress.
Her journey takes her from Oberstdorf via Switzerland to the renowned Bochum Theater under the direction of the legendary Claus Peymann. In Bochum, she not only meets her partner of many years, the actor Otto Kukla, but also makes a groundbreaking decision that will have a lasting impact on her life.
With the help of archive footage and interviews, Allgäu filmmaker Birgitta Weizenegger outlines the extraordinary and inspiring life of Crescentia Dünßer, from 1980 to the present day.
