Jan (Anton Spieker) is convinced that people are selfish by nature. That's why he's not surprised when his ride stands him up in Berlin. Jule (Mala Emde), on the other hand, believes that humans are emphatic and cooperative at heart, and offers Jan a place in her "303" vintage motor home. Both are on their way towards the Atlantic. Jan wants to go to Spain to meet his biological father, Jule to her boyfriend in Portugal. Actually, they are only supposed to go as far as Cologne, but with each kilometer they discover more of each other's world. Is capitalism turning people into Neanderthals? Does monogamy lead to unhappiness and can you choose who you fall in love with? The two cross France and reach Spain, their captivating conversations becoming more and more personal. And they find it harder and harder not to fall in love with each other.

"The original version of the script was 270 pages long. I didn't see any way to shorten it to feature film length, so I decided to shoot everything as it was written for now. Then suddenly series came into vogue. So in the first cut, we simply made a six-part series. This shows the material exactly in the tempo and rhythm as it was shot. I made the feature film afterwards, because you can't get into the cinema any other way. It was incredibly hard work, but it was worth it, because the feature film was a huge success and I'm also very happy with the result. Feature film always means condensing, compressing and simplifying. In return, you get this unique experience of cinema. So now, if you want to see the material in its original form, you have to watch the series; if you want to see the essence compressed, you can watch the film." - Hans Weingartner
