Midwives – Into the World

The everyday life of midwives moves on the threshold where new life is born and sometimes life passes away. The film shows how they accompany couples before and during birth. They let us participate in the fragile tightrope walk that couples seek between a safe and an ideal birth. The film gives an intimate insight into this process, which is simultaneously seen as a mystery and a high-risk medical event.
