Zalman Diskin is three years old. Not only does he have autism, but also a severe hearing impairment. Nevertheless his parents Chani and Israel Diskin, a rabbi, are thoroughly conviced that every child is a gift from god and Zalman, the sixth of seven children, even more so. His parents do everything for him to become as independent as his brothers and sisters and to live his life to the fullest. They also teach Zalman the values of jewish faith and he wears his kippah like everybody else.
