Brief synopsis

The Lady is an extraordinary story of love. It is the story of a man, Michael Aris, and most of all the story of a remarkable woman, Aung San Suu Kyi, who sacrifices her personal happiness for that of her people. Nothing, however, can shake the infinite love that unites these two people, not even separation, absence, isolation, and the inhumanity of a political junta that is still in place in Burma.

The Lady is also the story of a woman who has become one of the contemporary symbols of the struggle for democracy.
