Brief synopsis

Luci is a woman of passion. Her foremost passion, soccer, was introduced to her by her father. After his sudden death she decided to leave home behind and study in Ghana. Upon discovering the Liberian refugee camp in Buduburam she began a women's soccer team called Mapi, her late father’s nickname.

Enlisting the help of Luther and Solomon, Liberians from the camp, Luci begins to mold this group of curious and enthusiastic young women into a team. The eldest player, Felicia (33 years), used to play soccer in Liberia, but that was before the war. Now she lives in the camp with her young son and niece, just trying to get by. Another player, Evelyn (16 years), has spent so much of her life in camps that she can hardly recall her native land. The instant she finishes school she is on the field, the place she feels most at home.

As chaos is commonplace, it comes as no surprise that Luci's biggest challenge is getting the team to play together as a cohesive unit. With the first big away-game against the renowned Ghana International School fast approaching, and a limited amount of time to practice, Luci fights to teach the girls to play as a team.
