Company history | Superfilm’s output includes many productions for Austrian Broadcasting Corporation (ORF), mostly black comedies and satires that have received numerous national and international awards. Among these the late-night talk show Welcome Austria (Willkommen Österreich), Superfilm’s backbone for already more than eleven years. Other notable productions for ORF include Aufschneider – Carve the Joint, Braunschlag, Old Money, Höhenstraße – All about Uku and M – A city hunts a murderer, all of them written and directed by David Schalko. Further productions include three episodes for Tatort series as well as European co-productions for cinema (Sennentuntschi, One Way Trip 3D, Zauberer - Sorcerer) and TV (The Team I and II). Superfilm is independent and aims to keep up its promise of high quality productions as implicitly stated in its company name. Superfilm currently is the only climate-neutral film production company in Austria. In summer 2016 Superfilm started a subsidiary in Munich, Germany. The initial production since December 2016 is the late night show Ringlstetter featuring Hannes Ringlstetter and Caro Matzko, every Thurday on BR. |
