Jerry Marwig
was born in Pittsburgh in 1968 and was always interested in music and theatre.
He studied acting and singing at the renowned Stage School of Music, Dance and Drama in Hamburg, Germany. During his last year he already starred in the german production of You’re a good man Charlie Brown. After his graduation he immediately went on playing the role of Brad in The Rocky Horror Show and Cliff Bradshaw in the acclaimed german production of Cabaret. The german productions of Forever Plaid and Grease were next.
He got his first break in the german premiere of Lloyd Webbers Sunset Boulevard , where he was fortunate to be the first understudy for the role of Joe Gillis.
Tv came knocking after that and he was in the Main cast of the RTL Show called Unter Uns.
Then he went on to play Shakespeare as Orsino in
The twelfth night and Count Paris in Romeo and Juliet. In the stage play of Umberto Ecos The Name of the Rose, Jerry played the lead William of Baskerville. Going back to musicals he played the male lead Billy Crocker in Anything goes and later he portrayed the role of Professor Higgins in My Fair Lady.
Then he was asked to play the male lead Sam in the german production of the musical Mamma Mia.
A world premiere was next for Jerry. Famous german Singer Udo Juergens chose him to be the leading man in his Musical Ich war noch niemals in New York.
After more than 500 sold out Shows in Hamburg, Jerry bought the rights to the broadway musical The Story of my life. He translated, produced and starred in the german production of this highly acclaimed musical. After a successful run he started to write his own plays.
