Special skills | Journalist, author, director, cultural activist. Studied history, philosophy and politics. Before that 3 semesters of law. Since then I have been working as a freelance journalist and critic for print, radio and internet. In addition, I do moderations, teaching assignments and occasional book contributions. My work focuses on film, theory, non-fiction reviews, pop culture and zeitgeist topics. Since 1997 editor at the internet magazine artechock. Since 1998 work for various film festivals, participation in international and national film juries; since 2005 curator (selection committee) of the film festivals Mannheim-Heidelberg (until 2019) and Ludwigshafen. Since 2004 in changing functions on the board of the VDFK (Association of German Film Critics). Since 2013 I do occasionally switch sides for some months to write and direct so far three documentaries on film history, which have been shown and sold worldwide. |
