Marco Rottig

Marco Rottig was born 1987 and grew up in Konstanz, Germany. From 2010 to 2012, he completed an apprenticeship as a media designer for image and sound in Freiburg at bewo TV. From 2012 to 2018, he studied editing at the Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg. Since 2018 he has been working as a freelance film editor and is living in Berlin.

Among the resulting films, the documentary HELIKOPTER - HAUSARREST was awarded with the German Short Film Award 2015. The feature film FUGE was awarded with the New German Cinema Award at the Hof International Film Festival 2015. The feature film SCHWIMMEN was awarded with the Hof Gold Award 2018. The feature film STILLE POST (WHISPERS OF WAR) was awarded with the Audience Award at the Thessaloniki International Film Festival 2021 and at the Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival 2021.
The feature film GEWALTEN was premiered at the Berlin International Film Festival 2022 in the section Perspektive Deutsches Kino.

He participated at the Berlinale Talents during the Berlin International Film Festival 2023.
