About Zeitsprung Pictures GmbH (formerly Zeitsprung Entertainment GmbH)
Zeitsprung Pictures was founded in 1985 by producer Michael Souvignier and is well-established in the national and international film industry as a specialist for award-winning films, series and documentaries. Till Derenbach has been working for Zeitsprung Pictures since 2008 and is responsible for all Zeitsprung productions as managing director and producer together with Michael Souvignier.
Countless awards such as the International Emmy Award, the Tallinn Black Nights Film Prize ("Lieber Thomas"), the German Film Prize (9 awards for "Lieber Thomas" 2022), the German Television Prize ("KLEO", "Oktoberfest 1900"), the Grimme Prize and many more demonstrate Zeitsprung's success. Michael Souvignier and Till Derenbach are members of the International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, the European Film Academy and the German Film Academy.
Zeitsprung has produced several award-winning feature films including BLACK BOX (2023), LIEBER THOMAS (2021) starring Albrecht Schuch and Jella Haase, and MACKIE MESSER - BRECHTS DREIGROSCHENFILM (2018), an adaptation of the world-famous „Threepennyopera" by Bertolt Brecht and Kurt Weill. DAS TAGEBUCH DER ANNE FRANK (2016, The Diary of Anne Frank) made waves as the first ever German language film adaptation of the famous journal and as the first film actually based on the book itself. The film was successfully released across German-speaking territories by Universal Pictures. In 2009 the award-winning production "THEMBA” (2009), received the Cinema for Peace Award. In addition, Zeitsprung has produced over 100 fictional films as well as 500 non-fictional productions. These include television films, series and mini-series for all major German broadcasters and for international streaming services. Zeitsprung productions often deal with contemporary historical and socio-critical topics.
In the coming year, the feature films "Führer & Verführer” ("Leader & Seducer”) and "John Cranko” (WT) will be released, both written and directed by Joachim A. Lang.
