Martin Busker is a German filmmaker, born on January 10, 1980, in Emden, Germany. Today, the director and writer resides in both Emden and Berlin. Martin Busker discovered his fascination for film at the tender age of 12. After completing his schooling, he underwent training to become a media designer, worked as a freelance employee for various television stations, and served as an assistant director on film sets. In 2004, he began studying film direction at the Film Academy Baden-Württemberg, completing his studies in 2011. Many of his short films from the film school, such as "Höllenritt" and "Halbe Portionen," have won awards worldwide.
Following his graduation, he began his professional directing career with a fantasy series for the television station ProSieben. "Grimmsberg" was the first show on German television to be broadcast in stereo 3D. Afterwards, he worked on several TV series, including the coming-of-age show "Sturmfrei", "Die Mockridges", a family sitcom, as well as the ARD feature film "Feuerwehrfrauen".
His debut feature film "Zoros Solo", created in collaboration with Odeon Fiction, was released in German cinemas in 2019 and won, among other accolades, the Bavarian Film Award and the NDR Newcomer Award.
Currently, Martin Busker is working on a TV movie series for ARD Primetime, a coming-of-age sitcom, and a true crime series for Odeon Fiction GmbH.
